This is something I talk about a lot with my Mindset clients, Coaching clients, RTT clients and Pilates clients as it affects everything!  Basically how you THINK and FEEL creates your REALITY, the life that you are living right now.

Everything that happens to us, all our experiences, influences, good or bad, lead to us creating our beliefs and perceptions on what we think is true or not.  These lead to our thoughts, from our thoughts come our feelings, how we feel about something determines what we do and that leads to our results, our reality, our life.

But it’s just a tiny bit more complicated than that: most of us understand that we feel the way we think, but are you also aware we think the way we feel?

When we have a thought, your body will then release a corresponding cocktail of chemicals that goes with that thought, for example, if you have lots to do and start to think I have no time to do all this work, what am I going to do, I just can’t get everything done, I don’t have time – this instantly releases all those ‘stress’ chemicals into your body and you start to feel the symptoms of stress, such as a headache, backache, feeling tense, anxious etc.

This becomes the norm for so many of us – we are teaching our bodies to feel a negative emotion such as stress. Your body becomes addicted to this feeling, this feeling feels normal to you, and we end up doing the things that generate that same feeling, for example we may then spend time scrolling Facebook, constantly checking emails, texts, Instagram, Twitter, to do lists etc.  These create the same ‘stress’ chemicals in our bodies (feelings) and we then start to think those negative thoughts again ….what if, what if???

You see we feel what we think but we also think what we feel.

Now you can see why it’s a hard cycle to break and it takes conscious work.

You first have to be aware of the thoughts you are having – not always easy – then you have to change those thoughts……. This is the difficult bit for most of us because your body will do everything it can to stop you! It is a chemical reactor, it is used to the chemicals you have been sending into your system and it is addicted to them, it does not want you to change.

So, if you really want to make changes in your life you have to do things differently and have to have such a strong commitment, a strong intention to change.

Meditation makes a HUGE difference to your ability to change, as does Mindset coaching and understanding the steps you need to take, as does Rapid Transformational Therapy because we work on your beliefs – remember it’s our beliefs that create our thoughts 🙂
