Now, we all know that water is good for us, we are aware that are bodies are made up of 60 – 70% water.  Most of us know that we need water to carry oxygen to our cells, it removes waste, protects are joints & organs, but, did you know it helps with weight loss?!

Have you ever wondered why you are still carrying those extra few pounds even though you are sticking to your new exercise regime and clean eating programme?? You probably aren’t drinking enough water – most people aren’t!

Metabolism (of fat) is something done by the liver when it converts fat into energy.  If your kidneys are water deprived, then the liver has to do the kidneys work, along with its own, this lowers the livers productivity. This means that the liver can’t metabolise fat as quickly or efficiently as it should if the kidneys were doing their job properly! By not drinking enough water you are making your liver work harder & setting yourself up to store fat!

How easy is that – lose those extra pounds by drinking water – natures weight loss mineral!!

Your skin will look better as the impurities are flushes out, improves muscles tone as the muscles will have all the water they need to contract more easily, making your Pilates workouts more effective!

We often don’t recognise thirst signals & confuse them for hunger signals instead, try drinking a glass of water next time you think you’re hungry , remember it doesn’t have to be just plain water, add a slice of lemon or lime.  A warm glass of water with a slice of lemon in is a great way to start the day! I’ve discovered loads of wonderful herbal teas, & now much prefer them to a traditional ‘cuppa’

We don’t always realise when we are dehydrated, some common signs, thirst – if you’re properly hydrated you should never fell thirsty! Headaches & constipation are very common, but did you also know that joint pain & lower back pain can be a sign of dehydration!

You should be aiming for around 3 litters per day, about 8 glasses, slowly increase your intake throughout the day & yes in the beginning expect to go to the loo more often! Go on give it a try. Water is a MUST!
