This can often feel overwhelming, just too big, this business of being the Best.  We often feel like we should be striving to be the Best: the Best Pilates teacher, the Best Nurse, the Best Manager, the Best business owner, the Best Chef, the Best Salesman… and so we could go on.
Then are we the Best in our area, or the Best in the Midlands, the Best in the UK, the Best in Europe, the Best in the World?  Now that is really starting to seem daunting!

You see, when something feels too BIG, it feels like it is not obtainable.  We feel like we can never achieve it and then we stop even trying, we admit defeat before we have even started, and guess what?  We stay exactly where we are – Mediocre.

So when you read the statement that I finish every article with, you may well be thinking, ‘I can never be the Best version of me that I can be’. You simply don’t think you are the Best as there will always be somebody better than you.

Well, what if we reframe this?

What if we start to think about it in a different way?

What if we start to be the Best in the person’s world that is standing right in front of us right now, the Best at whatever it is you do?

Can you not be the Best Mum, Dad, Partner, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Teacher, Mentor to that person?  What about breaking it down even more…can you not cook the Best meal for that person, give them the Best of your attention, share your Best Wisdom, give that person the Best experience of you?

When we change our perspective and break it down like this, it becomes much easier to be our Best, it allows us to show up as who we truly are!

When I think about what I want to be and achieve, I don’t start with wanting to be the Best Pilates teacher or the Best Mindset Coach as straight away my subconscious would kick in and say…..ahh but so and so is sooo much better than you!

So, I start with: this Monday morning Pilates class, I am going to teach my Best class; on this coaching call I am going to listen and guide the Best that I can; when I do my Pilates I am going to be present and focused so that I can be the Best that I can be etc etc.

Changes things, doesn’t it?

So, let’s stop hiding behind the fear of not being the Best in the whole world and start being the Best at what you are doing right now, or who you are with right now – be the Best this weekend 🙂

Be the very Best Version of You that You can be!
